About the Program

C.A.R.E. Community After-school Relationships in Education is a program focused on  making a difference in the lives of young people in Greensboro.  1 in 4 children face hunger in NC and Greensboro has been listed at #1 in the nation for food insecurity in 2014.  Hunger is not an issue that is far from home and C.A.R.E. is one step we are taking toward fighting food insecurity in our immediate area.

Free Hot Meals (Healthy, Mostly Homemade) are served every Thursday during the school year at College Place UMC at 509 Tate Street.  Check-In for students and their families starts at 5:30pm.  The Family Meal, is served at 6:00pm. Tutorial Service from local college students begins directly after the meal and continues until 7:30pm.  All volunteer staff receive a Criminal Background Check before they are able to participate in the program.
